The 'Chi Shanty Music Festival is a free two-day celebration of maritime history and culture, brought to life through music, food, and community spirit. Held June 7th - 8th, 2025, from 11 AM to 6 PM in Bicentennial Park in Nelson, the festival highlights the city’s storied connection to the river and the sea with a lineup of sea shanties and maritime folk music, all with a modern musical twist. Attendees can explore a bustling vendor market, enjoy local food trucks and artisans, and soak in the sounds of the region’s best talent. The celebration doesn’t end at sundown; a city-wide 'Chi Shanty Afterparty on Saturday night brings the energy into local bars and venues, keeping the maritime spirit alive well into the evening!
